Haiti Airport was built by Dr. Francois Duvalier during his regime.
The name of the International Airport of Port-au-Prince was changed to Port-au--Prince International Airpot when Jean Claude 'Baby Doc' left power in 1986. Ex-President Jean-Bertrand Aristide renamed the Airport: Aeroport International De Toussaint L'Ouverture.
Toussaint L'ouverture was one of the Haitian heroe who founded the Spirit of 1803: The Independence of the republic of Haiti.
