I see that they are mixing the mortar or concrete on the ground with shovels.

Improperly mixed cement products are a huge problem in Haiti.

That is the same problem that caused so many buildings to fall in the earthquake.

Concrete and mortar and blocks made from materials mixed on the ground with shovels create product that is inconsistent in strength and can hardly hold its own weight.

If well meaning charities just continue to build like this, the next earthquake or hurricane will again kill thousands.
