Hinche Haiti - Kabrit la sou dife, bèl plezi - How to cook goat meat Haitian party style
A group of friends gathered in an undisclosed location in the city of Hinche Haiti to eat some flame boiled goat meat (kabrit bouyi).
Nou fek mete kabrit la sou dife... We have just started cooking the goat meat, and the chef (he happens to be a police officer) is putting the final touches. LOL...
This is how you cook goat meat Haitian backyard party style: Find a big chodyè, dump the entire goat meat in there, throw in the ingredients, some plantains, some rhum Barbancourt and voila!
Goat (kabrit) and Guinea fowl (pintade) are two favorites dishes of the people in the Plateau Central department of Haiti.
Whenever you're in Hinche, be sure to enjoy some boiled kabrit or pintade. you will love it.
Haiti Eggs (Ze Peyi) wrapped in Fey Maskiti
In the Haitian country side, eggs are usually wrapped in Fey Maskreti (Palma Christi plan leaf, also called castor-oil plant) for safe transport to the marketplace.
The brown rope like thing that wraps the fey maskreti is "Pay Mayi" (the inner leaf of a corn)
